As we head into 2018 what are some of your financial goals and new year resolutions? Is it to save more? Start thinking about financial planning? Or starting your own business? Fidelity’s article “3 ways to succeed at New Year’s resolutions” is a great article to read and they share the top three financial resolutions for 2018.
Beginning on January 1, 2018, the standard mileage rates allowed by the IRS will be 54.5 cents per mile for business miles driven. This is an increase from the 2017 rate.

The closer we get to Christmas and the end of the year, the more organizations are pushing for donations / giving back to the community. Sure it feels nice to give money to those cold bell ringers for the salvation army, or buying gifts to give to a family in need. However, if you need to lower your tax liability in 2017, you have less than 15 days to make a donation in order to claim it on your 2017 tax return.
